Oak Hill has strong community roots. Not only is the land surrounding the school an educational and recreational area for the entire community, the school itself is made up of a thriving community of involved students, parents, and teachers.
Since opening its doors in 1990, Oak Hill has been committed to providing students with a safe and challenging learning environment. The school has earned recognition as a school of excellence. Students and staff have access to two computer labs and over 37,000 books in the library. Art history, band, orchestra, and vocal music all play a big part in the Oak Hill educational experience. The "Big Woods", adjacent to the school property, provides a unique setting for biology field trips and fun nature walks. The property and resources also allow for great physical activities. There are ample academic achievement opportunities and after-school programs.
Oak Hill’s greatest asset is its caring people. Teachers know that quality education is the foundation of a strong and vibrant community. An exceptionally supportive PTSA hosts book fairs, carnivals, and many fun activities as well as sponsoring an award-winning newsletter. Students branch out into the community through service activities like the grandparent program where students and seniors benefit from multi-generational wisdom. The belief in quality education is deeply "rooted" at Oak Hill.
